What’s Team Able’s Mission Statement?
We are a community of inclusive, caring, and motivated individuals driven by a shared commitment to positive change and social impact.
Why the Name Team Able?
We chose this name because we focus on each individuals' abilities. We believe that when we work together as a team, we can accomplish any goal.
Who is Team Able’s Target Demographic?
Team Able is raising awareness and creating opportunities for the communities with physical, mental, developmental, and sensory conditions. Everyone is invited to join our cause as we create opportunities for those who are having a hard time fitting into a role because of their condition and/or diagnoses.
Who Can Volunteer?
Anyone who is 18 years or older and has been to at least one of our trainings. If that volunteer requires an aide, their aide must be provided by that volunteer.
Why Do I Need to Be Interviewed? What Questions Will Be Asked?
Our interview process is very simple and takes 5-10 minutes to complete. Our goal is to better get to know you better. Once we have gotten to know you, we can better pair you up with people that we think you would work well with. Knowing your strengths, abilities, and wants will set everyone up for success.
Why Do I Have to Sign Team Able’s Pledge?
Our pledge is how we will hold our Board Members, volunteers, and patrons accountable. We are creating a safe space and will have vulnerable people present. Our pledge is also a tool to teach our community on how we want to treat one another. To attend our events, you must sign our pledge.
Is There A Dress Code?
Yes, we have a dress code. We ask that you dress in clothing that is comfortable and ok to get dirty. We ask that stomachs and cleavage are covered, and shorts are around fingertip length. We ask that no clothing has vulgar, political, or offensive content. We will provide a shirt for you to keep at your first volunteering event.
Why is Intention so Important to Team Able?
We all were brought up differently and have had different life experiences. Our culture and individuality can create friction in Team Able’s community; how we handle that friction is by looking at ones’ intention. We may not agree on everything, however, we are all here for the greater good. We are all here to learn, share and support each other.
